Since joining our firm in 2010, John has represented law enforcement officers in officer-involved shootings, custodial deaths and other critical incidents, criminal investigations, internal investigations, disciplinary issues, promotional issues, accident review boards, grievances, labor issues, discrimination, retaliation, workers’ compensation, personal injuries, licensing issues, wills, and many other legal issues. John has also taught classes in officers’ rights and critical incident response, and his articles have been published in numerous police association magazines.
Prior to joining our firm to represent law enforcement officers, John was a law enforcement officer himself for over fourteen years. John’s law enforcement experience includes the Tarrant County Sheriff’s Department, Irving Police Department, Pasadena Police Department, Oak Ridge North Police Department, and Harris County Community Supervision & Corrections Department. John was certified as a Master Peace Officer, and he also taught other officers as an instructor and field training officer. While he attended law school, John also interned with the Tarrant County Criminal District Attorney and the Texas Attorney General.
John received a Juris Doctor from Texas Wesleyan University School of Law, and a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from the University of North Texas. He is admitted to practice law by the Texas Supreme Court and by the United States District Court for the Northern District of Texas.
